| The work | Liz's work comes from her interpretation
of the world around her. Be it flora, fauna or the life form her passion
is to represent the character and mood of the subject rather than just a
physical form. She enjoys trying to catch movement in her work, as demonstrated
in her many versions of washing lines.
She delights in storytelling both in art and with the written word. She has won prizes both for poetry and short stories and performed her poetry. Some of her work uses both the word and the form to bring her message to the viewer. She loves to make people look again, or think again, about something. Liz loves the challenge of 3D work, the infinite number of views, and planes to be found, and the constant investigating of new materials and their properties. This curiosity is probably her own worst enemy, always having 'itchy fingers' in the materials she works with, the surface finishes, or the styles. She moves between sculptural and decorative pieces and though the viewer may initially see them as very different, they are vital to each other and feed off each other enormously.
